The fourth season of the CBS crime drama series Hawaii Five-0 premiered on Friday, September 27, 2013 and concluded on May 9, 2014. The season consisted of 22 episodes.

Cast and characters
Henry Ian Cusick guest starred in the season's premiere episode as a character called Ernesto, a member of a terrorist group called the National Liberation Movement. Also, Jorge Garcia was confirmed to be guest starring in an episode. He appeared in episodes 3, 16, 17, and 18.
Chi McBride was confirmed to be starring in a recurring role as SWAT Captain Lou Grover. This character first appeared in the original series and the rebooted version debuted in the premiere of season 4. He was promoted to the regular cast on November 21, 2013.
It was announced that Tim Daly will be playing a Texas Ranger in one episode, with the potential for it to become a recurring role. The episode aired on October 4, 2013.
On August 13, 2013, Nick Jonas announced that he would play a guest role as a computer hacker Ian Wright in the eighth episode. The episode aired on November 15, 2013. On March 13, 2014, Jonas returned to filmed in his second episode and the final episode from the season.
Michelle Borth announced that she was leaving the show at the end of the season.

Production
On March 27, 2013, CBS renewed Hawaii Five-0 for a fourth season, but with a time slot change moving from Monday nights at 10 PM to Friday nights at 9 PM, with its season premiere on September 27, 2013. For season 4 production will resume at the show's new headquarters -- the state film studio at Diamond Head. Filming began on July 10, 2013 with a traditional Hawaiian blessing.
